Responsible Eggs Powered by Solar Energy

Burdan

Burdan, part of the successful business journey of Matlı Şirketler Grubu founder Ömer Matlı since 1965, commenced operations in Canbaz neighbourhood, Karacabey, Bursa, Turkey, in April 2010. Burdan's production facilities have a capacity of 785,000 chicks and 2,150,000 hens on an area of 300,000 m².

As the first egg facility in Turkey to receive a Halal certificate approved by TSE and the Directorate of Religious Affairs, Burdan has also taken pioneering steps in sustainability. With a solar power plant of 7,100 kWp capacity, it produces 8,500,000 kWh of electricity annually, preventing 3,750,000 kg of CO₂ emissions — equivalent to planting approximately 1,000 trees every day.
